RioSat SL was formed in early December 2003. Based in southern Spain, it grew out of a recognition that there was little interest in extending broadband internet into rural communities.
One of RioSat´s 1st base stations has no access to mains electricity, so a complete local ‘power station’ has had to be installed. This comprises a 3.5 kW wind turbine and twenty 120 watt solar panels feeding twelve 2 volt, 1500 amp-hour batteries. These, in turn, feed a 3.5 kW invertor/charger providing normal mains voltage, and the whole system is backed up by a generator.
For those that are in coverage of the RioSat network we offer a very personal service for our clients.
